Getting divorced: It was a learned behavior

In my memoir, Singing the Song of Life, one woman’s symphony, I share with you, how absorbing my mother's actions reveal what getting divorced really means. After Mom’s 2 divorces, the underlying message to me was, everything in life is temporary.  In other words, if you’re in any kind of situation that makes you unhappy, even a marriage that’s supposed to be until death do you part, you can get out of it.

Getting divorced can be a devastating time in your life, but just maybe it’s the right thing to do. It seems like your doomed if you do and doomed if you don’t.  But the real victims here are the children. If you stay in your marriage and act as if everything is normal, the entire family lives under a cloud of despair. If divorce is your choice, then your children’s world of security goes up in flames.  You can change your partner in life if you want to, but your children only get one mommy and one daddy. In my memoirI share how my everyday survival was affected by my parents getting divorced in my adult life. However, I did it without placing blame.

Throughout my book, you will see how and why I made such horrific choices, when it came to men. Divorce is described in more than one chapter throughout this memoir because I have been divorced twice.  I believed I could get out of anything and amazingly I did. If you are getting divorced or know someone who is, you will love my memoir Singing the Song of Life. If nothing else, you’ll feel a whole lot better.
